A Farewell to Gabo and Mercedes written by Garcia’s son Rodrigo was wonderful and sweet. I adore Gabriel Garcia Marquez and this short memoir was a delight. I listened to it while getting a root canal and it almost made me forget what was happening. “In March 2014, Gabriel García Márquez, one of the most acclaimed writers of the twentieth century, came down with a cold.
