Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter was brutal and disturbing. Unless you have a tough stomach, you will want to pass on this one. The crux of the story is that Claire and her family are estranged because of the disappearance of her sister Julia 20 years prior. When Claire’s husband is murdered, she learns a great deal about him and reconnects with her sister, Lydia, to figure everything out. While it was a gripping story, it was quite difficult to read.
