I have had The Last Carolina Girl by Meagan Church on my Kindle for a while and decided it was time to dive in. What a good book! When a moment of violence and prejudice thrusts Leah into the center of the state’s shameful darkness, she must fight for her own future against a world that doesn’t always value the wild spirit of a Carolina girl.” This was a quick read and an interesting story. Not the best of the year, but certainly decent, compelling, and based on a history I didn’t know.
